Miracle bird So I took Bandit to the vet on Wednesday to get his toe nails clipped. I used to trim them with ordinary fingernail clippers, but he has wised up to that and goes into attack mode when he sees them coming. The vet was all amazed because Bandit's "thyroid tumor" has begun reducing itself. That's right folks, it seems my bird is too mean spirited to be taken out by a mere tumor. I am very pleased with his seemingly miraculous recovery. My mom has taken to calling him "Miracle Bird." Speaking of miracles, my neice was one of the eight people living in the house that caught fire late Thursday/early Friday. Luckily the actual flames didn't spread further than the basement apartment, but pretty much everything was lost to smoke/heat damage. She is taking things fairly well. She says she only lost "things", and that it could have been worse. She's a smart kid, that one. My brother took her to get some clothes for school. I haven't seen her yet. She lived there a few years ago, but moved out when her mother married a nutcase. This is the same man who hired a hitman to off his ex-girlfriend. The mother married him so as to not be forced to testify against him in court. Sick. Anyway, the nutcase kicked them out recently after saying that if The Mother did not leave, she would be found floating in the river. Shows his lack of intellect don't ya think. Most people would at least try to weight down the body. Anyhoo, they moved back into the ill-fated house last week or so. What timing, eh? I've been very sleepy lately. This damn cold just won't seem to go away. It's getting better though. It's mainly just coughing now. Not near as snotty as I once was. Well, I'm off to crochet so more. I'm such a little old lady. posted by Beth 10:54 PM . . .
