Thou shalt not lie
I'm not exactly a religious person. I don't think any one religion is any better or more true than another. What ever you believe is fine with me as long as you don't try to cram it down my throat. That being said, the amount of religious advertising on television amazes me. Father This and Reverend That using their 30 seconds of commerical air time to give a mini bible lesson. Various churches promoting themselves. The only faith being represented is the christian faith. Have you ever seen a commercial for a Satanic Cult? An ad proclaiming atheism is the way to go? No. Something like that would never make TV.
A commercial for Cutting Edge Ministries sent me on this rant. The ad says, not quite verbatum but close enough, that in Hagerstown the blind are regaining their sight, the deaf are hearing, lepers are being cleansed, and the dead are being raised up. Okay, now I did a little research, and I can't find a single case of leprosy in Hagerstown. Maybe they have all been cleansed already. I don't know. I haven't heard of any dead people coming back to life either. We're not a huge city, but I think a resurrection would at least make the 10:00 news.
I was curious about this miraculous do-gooders so I took a peak at their website (see above link) Can you say cuckoo boys and girls? Be sure to take a looksy at the Harry Potter link. If you like the possessed looking Village of the Damned child reading the book, you'll love the demon that appears and begins to crack open his skull. Oh and hey, I didn't know that Wicca was "Satan's little white lie." You learn something new everyday. For those of you who don't know, the Wiccan Rede goes as follows: An it harm none, love, and do what thou wilt. Oooooo. Yikes. Get behind me, Satan. Talking about love and not harming others, that just wreaks of evil.
